The Call of The Wild · Week I

The Call of The Wild · Week I

It is officially the first week of our new Book Club! If you’re just getting started with us, take a look at our introduction article for our first book, The Call of The Wild. Our main purpose for starting up this new book club is to make more of an effort to unplug with our pups, finding a peaceful place to unwind and dive into a good canine book. We chose The Call of The Wild as our first book since it is a shorter read and will allow us a trial run while we work out a routine. As a thank you for taking this journey with us, we’ve created a point system that will allow our readers to redeem for special rewards in the future. The reader with the highest engagement at the end of the book will receive a special curated Gift Box related to the title of the book!

Amazon Classics Synopsis
“In this classic American adventure, Jack London explores the laws of civilization and wilderness–and the pull of instinct–through the eyes of Buck, a half Saint Bernard, half Scottish Shepherd. Stolen from his comfortable life in California, Buck is sold into service as a sled dog during the Klondike Gold Rush, where returning to his primordial nature is the only way for him to survive.

Reading Schedule
Chapter 1. Into the Primitive
Chapter 2. The Law of Club and Fang

Next week we’ll be featuring specific questions for discussion. If you would like to submit a question for consideration in next week’s article, please email nihmh@nihmh.com. For every question that is accepted and featured, you will earn 10 points. We hope you and your pup enjoy the quality time together while we all get lost in our new book. Until next week, friends!

  • Yay! Can’t wait to get lost in our new book and then discuss it next week. We are so glad to be a part of the book club and it will be a great remind now and in the future for us to unplug and hang out with our pups! Now I’ll be mia for the next while as I dive in to chapter 1…
