Over The Weekend

We had so much fun attending our first Gymkhana over the weekend to cheer on Jamie, Nihmh’s breeder! I had been to horse events in the past, but had never been to a Western Gymkhana before, so it was exciting to learn about a new sport and imagine ourselves running out there on our own horses eventually. Now that we’re officially treating my Valley Fever, we have high hopes that I’ll be able to get out there with the horses more often. I’ve been making more of an effort to spend time with my horses, especially my most recently adopted […]

Over The Weekend

After an exhausting weekend with a colicking horse and four sick dogs, we decided to take the weekend off to relax and recoup–which didn’t yield many exciting photos, but was much needed nonetheless! Does it ever seem like the weekends fly by more quickly when we have less on the to-do list? Thankfully we were still able to accomplish more housework and prep work for our remodel. I can’t wait to start tearing down walls and reconstructing our floorplan! Now for some real talk–because it’s always been important to me to be transparent with my readers in the hope that […]

Over The Weekend

I recently won a Canon 50mm 1.8 Lens and had the chance to take it for a spin this weekend! Raising a dog while disabled has been a completely different experience than I’ve been used to in the past with our two littles. When I was healthier, Alex and I brought Norah and Jones along with us everywhere we went–whether we were shopping or hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains. They were exposed to so many experiences and we had plenty of opportunity to bond with them through various adventures. Being sick and severely limited, however, had made the same […]

Over The Weekend

It was an exciting weekend here for our local friends, Going For Golden! On Saturday, we spent the morning assisting at a fundraising event to raise money for our dear friend Leah, who is currently going through a local Service Dog program to be matched with the perfect partner to mitigate her disability. We are so happy to report that she had a huge turn out and managed to raise over $500! Leah is now over halfway to her goal and we can’t wait until she can bring her new partner home with her. For the past ten years, Leah […]

Over The Weekend

This weekend was packed with exciting training opportunities both here in town and down in the Los Angeles area. We spent Saturday afternoon close to home training Nihmh and Khoena at our local PetSmart and we are so proud of how far our girls have come in their training. As common with most young dogs, there are still challenges we need to continue to tackle, such as exposure to large crowds and loud noises. Since we live in a rural area that does not quite have the hustle and bustle of city life, we planned a Sunday trip down to […]
