It was an exciting weekend here for our local friends, Going For Golden! On Saturday, we spent the morning assisting at a fundraising event to raise money for our dear friend Leah, who is currently going through a local Service Dog program to be matched with the perfect partner to mitigate her disability. We are so happy to report that she had a huge turn out and managed to raise over $500! Leah is now over halfway to her goal and we can’t wait until she can bring her new partner home with her.
For the past ten years, Leah has battled a genetic disorder that makes it nearly impossible to function during episodes. After countless attempts with various medications and treatments, her medical team felt it would be in her best interest to consider teaming up with a Service Dog to help her during the difficult times. In order to bring home a Service Dog of her own, Leah still needs to raise an additional $2,000. This amount covers the cost of the dog, but does not additional expenses such as food, Service Dog gear, veterinary care. If you would like to learn more about Leah or her campaign, please visit her GoFundMe page or follow her on Instagram @goingforgolden.
Our followers have been so wonderful showing support for our wonderful friend during this new chapter in her life. We appreciate you all so much, whether you have provided financial support, donations for her fundraiser or even simply sharing her campaign across social media. Your self-sacrificing spirit does not go unnoticed and we are truly grateful to have such loving people in our lives. Happy Monday!
