A Friend In Need

A Friend In Need

Today’s post is dedicated entirely to one of my closest friends, Shannon, who many know as @wandering.nova on Instagram. Shannon has one of the most kind, modest and humble hearts I’ve ever known. She inspires me to be a more understanding and forgiving individual and she is always there to pick others up when they’re feeling down.

Now, it’s Shannon who is in need of support. Her German Shepherd puppy, Nova, has been undergoing specialized training to become a dependable Service Dog to mitigate Shannon’s disability. Unfortunately, Nova’s recent examination and further testing has shown likely nerve damage that will need to be addressed this coming year. With this prognosis, Nova will need to be retired early from her career as a Service Dog so as not to unfairly ask her to work with medical conditions of her own. Not only is this an unexpected financial burden on her family, but it is imperative to Shannon’s well-being that she bring her prospect home as soon as possible so that she may continue on in her fight and still be present for all of Nova’s needs. The good news is that Shannon has found an incredible local breeder who specializes in the breeding and training of Service Dogs and her current litter is ready to be placed with their new owners.

The difficult news is that due to Nova’s unexpected medical costs, it’s proving to be difficult to come up with the remainder needed to bring Shannon’s prospect home. While she is committed to working for her new Service Dog prospect through services such as Photo Retouching and Editing, we’ve also set up GoFundMe and You Caring pages for those who would like to contribute out of the goodness of their heart. As of writing this article, we’re already over 10% of the way to our goal through three generous donations alone.

For each supporter, we have a beautiful 6×4 postcard print of Nova that will include a handwritten Thank You note from Shannon. If you cannot personally make a contribution, you still have a chance at receiving one of these limited prints! The person who raises the most money by means of sharing on social media (through their own personal share link) will also receive a limited postcard print with a handwritten Thank You note. If you would like to make a contribution or learn more about this campaign please visit one of the links below:

Thank you so much for all of your support, whether it be warm thoughts and well wishes or a monetary donation of your own hard-earned savings. We appreciate each and every one of you and look forward to sharing updates with you through the campaign pages.
